Two Futures Groups Suggest Standard Data Symbology

After some seven months of meetings, the Managed Futures Association's (MFA) standard committee and the Futures Industry Association's (FIA) technology committee have jointly proposed both rules for electronic data transmission and a catalog of standard ticker symbols. The electronic data transmission rules go before the MFA and FIA's boards for approval in January; the standard ticker symbols, on the other hand, remain very much a proposal -- as a number of market data vendors are skeptical
