Edward D. Jones Ready To Begin Quote Net Upgrade

St. Louis, Mo.-based regional brokerage Edward D. Jones & Co. is at last ready to pull the trigger on its long-planned migration to a client/server architecture for its proprietary retail quote network. The shift to the new architecture will not entail a change in the firm's incumbent market data feed providers, Reuters and McGraw- Hill Inc.'s Standard & Poor's. E.D. Jones has been planning to replace the dumb terminals on its brokers' desktops since late 1993 (IMD, Jan. 31, 1994).
