PC Quote Inc.
posted a net loss of $1.9 million for the first quarter of 1998, on revenues of $5 million. The first-quarter loss was unchanged from a year earlier, but was narrower than the $2.7 million deficit recorded in the fourth quarter of 1997. Revenues for the latest period were up 23 percent from $4.1 million. Jim Porter, chairman and chief executive officer, attributed the revenue increase to "a seven percent rise in our core business and 22 percent revenue growth from our InternetOnly users who have a paid subscription or are part of a corporate subscription are able to print or copy content.
