Nesbitt, Burns Merger Gives Star An Edge -- For Now

In the wake of their recent merger, Canadian brokerage firms Nesbitt Thomson Inc. and Burns Fry Ltd. -- soon to be known as Nesbitt Burns -- are evaluating both internal and third-party retail quote systems to support their combined total of more than 1,000 retail brokers. Nesbitt, a Toronto- based retail brokerage house that is owned by the Bank of Montreal, acquired Burns Fry late last month.
