In Two Surveys, Users Speak Out On Desk Unit Billing

The practice of counting and charging for data consumption by physical desk unit has got to go. So say the respondents to two surveys -- one conducted jointly by the Information Industry Association (IIA) and the Securities Industry Association (SIA), and the other by Reuters.
Two preferences came through loud and clear: Users want charges for market data tied to people, not display devices. They also harbor a clear affection for site- or company-wide redistribution licenses.
