LONDON--Disaster recovery experts swung into action in the race to re-house and re-connect banks and financial services companies after the terrorist attacks in New York City.

Electronic Data Systems of Dallas has 12 clients in the area with 1,000 employees devoted to the recovery effort, says spokesperson Sean Healy. The vendor is delivering 2,000 PCs to the area and has room for 700 seats in seven sites throughout the Northeastern US. In the New York area alone, 35,000 square feet of space
