Newly Merged Chemical's Traders Inhabit Interim Trading Floor
MANAGEMENT AND STRATEGY
Among the less celebrated events accompanying the official Jan. 1 consummation of the merger of Chemical Bank Corp. and Manufacturers Hanover Trust Co. was the rollout of an interim trading floor for the two banks' combined capital markets staff.
The installation, on the ninth floor of Chemical's 277 Park Avenue offices, incorporates no new technology, and in some ways reduces the degree of hi-tech previously employed by the two firms. The floor accommodates some 350 traders and salesmen
