Technology Not the Differentiator for Trading Systems

LONDON--Technology is not ultimately the differentiator when a bank or a corporate institution chooses a transaction system, although there is a minimum level of functionality required before a system will be considered.

The crucial differentiator when it comes to choosing a trading system is liquidity, although cost of dealing, price transparency and connectivity also count. That was the consensus of a roundtable discussion hosted by IBM on the future of electronic markets.
