WestLb Takes Fides For NT In New York Swaps Department

The swaps trading desk at Westdeutsche Landesbank Girozentrale (WestLB) in New York is beta testing a data distribution system supplied by Switzerland's Fides Informatik and running under Microsoft Corp.'s Windows 3.1 and Windows NT. The system -- which receives real-time data via links to another Fides data distribution system and to the bank's global network -- is being used to automate derivatives pricing calculations.
