REUTERS FORMS NEW TRANSACTION UNIT
In October, Reuters acquired the Liberty trade-order routing network from the Cedel Group of Luxembourg. Two months earlier, Reuters' took a 33.5 per cent stake in GL Trade, a technology development unit of the Paris stock exchange that provides hardware and software gateways between electronic securities exchanges and sell-side trading desks. Liberty's Intertrade Direct network connects buy-side traders to their sell-side counterparts.
