Acquisition Gives Market Axess 'Edge' in Bondbook Battle

NEW YORK -- Market Axess announced plans to acquire Trading Edge and its Bondlink system, upping the ante in the battle for market share among fixed income trading systems.
The deal, which should be completed in about a month, creates the first online fixed income marketplace to offer two distinct trading models: a fully disclosed, multi-dealer market and an anonymous, cross-matching environment.
