Irish Banks to Save E40 Million By Outsourcing Infrastructure
ORGANIZATION AND STRATEGY
DUBLIN--Allied Irish Banks (AIB) and Bank of Ireland aim to save a total of E40 million per year by splitting off their IT infrastructure departments and forming a joint company to provide a common IT infrastructure, officials tell Trading Technology Week.
The venture will provide and run all hardware, mainframes and operating systems, Unix support, PC support and help-desk operations. It will not cover application design or software development for trading rooms and international operations
