Disgruntled Reuters Staffer Tampers With Triarch At 5 Hong Kong Banks

The Triarch 2000 digital data distribution platforms of five Hong Kong banks were deliberately disabled by a disgruntled Reuters field engineer in an incident of tampering discovered late last month. Jardine Fleming, Standard Chartered and Natwest Markets are among the institutions whose platforms were affected. Vendor and bank officials now say that Reuters staff were able to identify and fix the problem without any commercial or data loss to the five customers.
