Instinet Pushes FIX Protocol, Looks To Partner With Vendors

NEW YORK--No, Instinet isn't a member of the US FIX Steering Committee (its application was turned down last month), but that hasn't stopped this electronic agency broker from promoting the protocol. In fact, Instinet's actually stepped up its efforts; pursuing strategic alliances with trade order management vendors and working to establish FIX sessions in the UK and Europe.

Of course, Instinet's been hot on FIX for some time. It has been providing support for clients deploying FIX applications
