Tibco to Keep Talarian ‘Separate But Equal’

PALO ALTO, Calif.--Talarian products, such as Smartsockets, will be sold into financial and other institutions separately from Tibco products such as Rendezvous and Hawk, but as part of the Tib/Active Enterprise family. Tibco Software received approval by Talarian shareholders to continue its acquisition of the messaging vendor, and the Talarian name will be discontinued.
Ex-Talarian staff will be largely responsible for selling their old products, which in some cases means approaching the same
