End Of Reuters' Monitor Network: Dec. 31, 1996 Is Official Cutoff Date

Reuters has finally announced a cut-off date for the closure of its 22 year-old Monitor service, after several years of allowing it to atrophy as users migrated to newer services running on Reuters' Integrated Data Network (IDN). The vendor now intends to migrate remaining Monitor users to other services before Dec. 31, 1996, when Monitor will be turned off.
IDN itself was introduced seven years ago as the base mechanism for Reuters' then new generation of datafeed services, particularly
