The Bloomberg is opening up -- to a degree. Breaking with its conventional practice, Bloomberg L.P. announced last week it would allow users to display its data and services on PCs rather than the proprietary standalone terminals that it has always sold. Users will also be able to extract Bloomberg data to use in other Microsoft Corp. Windows NT applications.
