Instinet Wants Real-Time Quotes From NASD-I

Reuters Holdings PLC's Instinet Corp. subsidiary criticized the National Association of Securities Dealers' (NASD) plans to launch an international service in the U.K. in comments filed with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The comments, filed Aug. 22 in response to the NASD's 90-33 rule change proposal to the SEC, were seen by industry observers as part of an attempt by Instinet to stave off competition internationally from the NASD.
