STS SHUFFLES EXECS
SunGard Trading Systems (STS) is expanding the roles of some of its management team. Tom King, president of STS-Brass, now becomes responsible for all sales and business development efforts. King also retains responsibility for group vision and strategy. Cindy Foster, STS-Brass chief compliance officer, also becomes product line manager in charge of the team responsible for the Brass order management system (OMS) and indications of interest (IOI), allocations and compliance products. Mark Clark, former group vice president of strategy and business development for SunGard Financial Networks and Execution Services, becomes product line manager for the direct market access team, and the Universal Market Access and U2 solutions.
ARCA HIRES NASDAQ EXEC
The Archipelago Exchange (ArcaEx) last week appointed Bob Power as director of listings sales, and appointed several Arca executives to a newly formed Corporate Client Group. Power was previously senior vice president of the market intelligence desk at the Nasdaq stock market, prior to which he was managing director of marketing at the American Stock Exchange (Amex). He joins the Corporate Client Group, along with Jenny Drake, a member of Arca’s regulatory team, and Sam Long, former general manager of Archipelago Europe, and director of listings David Strandberg.
HYPERFEED NAMES NEW CEO
Paul Pluschkell has taken on the post of CEO for the Chicago-based HyperFeed Technologies, a provider of market data ticker plant technology systems and services for financial services firms. Pluschkell has been president and chief operating officer (COO) for the past year (TTW, Sept. 16, 2002). He joined the company as executive vice president of strategic business development in the summer of 2002. A veteran of Reuters, Global Crossing, and MXnet, Pluschkell has been overseeing HyperFeed’s operations, product management and product development groups.
NQLX PROMOTES READ
NQLX officials last week announced that Patrick Read has been promoted to vice president of business development. Read has been responsible for implementing market operations processes and managing market operations teams since joining NQLX in October 2001. Prior to NQLX, he was a senior specialist for electronic trading at the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT), where he worked with Eurex and CBOT users on the transition to the a/c/e trading platform.
WSS HIRES FROM PRINCIPIA
Treasury software vendor Wall Street Systems (WSS) has hired John Murray as sales manager for its EMEA region. He is responsible for developing new business in the EMEA region. Based in London, he reports to EMEA managing director Chris Longden, a former Misys managing director who joined the vendor earlier this year (TTW, Sept 1). Prior to joining WSS, Murray was EMEA sales manager for risk management and straight through processing (STP) software vendor Principia Partners in London. A Principia spokesperson says a replacement has not yet been named.
CORRECTION
Peter Kearns, the new president of U.S. operations for NeoNet, reports to the acting CEO Staffan Persson, not Johan Carlsson, NeoNet’s head of client service and development, as was reported in last week's edition of TTW.
