TradeWeb Debuts CDS Platform

LONDON—Online fixed-income network provider Thomson TradeWeb took on its rival MarketAxess head-to-head when it launched a multi-dealer-to-customer platform for credit default swap (CDS) indices last Tuesday, Oct. 25.

From its launch, TradeWeb CDS has JPMorgan, Morgan Stanley and Goldman Sachs identified as users, and Merrill Lynch, UBS, Barclays, ABN Amro and Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein are all confirmed to join the platform to provide liquidity across a range of DJ CDX and iTraxx CDS index
