ABN Amro in Talks with EDS for $1.5B Outsourcing Contract

AMSTERDAM—Amsterdam-based ABN Amro bank announced Tuesday, Aug. 20, that it has entered into exclusive negotiations with Plano, Texas-based EDS for a five-year, IT outsourcing contract valued at €1.5 billion (approximately $1.5 billion) for its wholesale clients (WCS) activities. TTW reported in its Aug. 19 print edition that a major contract announcement, affecting the transfer of approximately 1,000 ABN staff members, was pending.
