Two software development companies share the address of 24 Ash St. in Sydney. One of them, Equity Systems Ltd., provides analytical software to Reuters Japan Ltd. The other, Giltnet Ltd., develops analytical products for Reuters' archrival Telerate Systems Inc.
ESL and Giltnet both trace their roots to Australian Gilt Securities Ltd., a reporting bond dealer to the Reserve Bank of Australia. Giltnet emerged from AGS' trading operations in 1984 while ESL was formed within AGS subsidiary Australian
