BOSTON--While Fleet Financial Group is looking to acquire BankBoston to increase its size and competitiveness, BankBoston would also bring a considerable amount of trading technology to Fleet.
This includes a Common Request Broker Architecture (Corba) middleware IT infrastructure, Tibco's The Information Bus (TIB) data distribution system and trading systems from Summit Systems and the MKI Frustum Group. Some of BankBoston's hardware requirements are filled by Sun Microsystems, IBM Intellistation
