Director of OFR Stresses LEI Importance, Collaboration on Data

It's hard to believe anyone in financial services underestimates the importance of data. But just in case there is someone, Richard Berner was happy to emphasize the point for them.

Berner, the director of the Office of Financial Research (OFR) at the US Treasury, stressed that good data is an important cog in what makes the industry run so fluidly.

"We need good analysis to make good policy. We need good data. Solid, reliable, granular, timely and comprehensive data to conduct good analysis,"
