Seaborn Preps Ultra-Low Latency NJ-Brazil Connectivity for 2017
Seaborn has already manufactured the cable for the project, and will lay it between the US and Brazil in Q1 2017.
The point-to-point service, dubbed SeaSpeed, will deliver a "multi-millisecond step-change in lowest-latency offerings for the US-Brazil financial path," officials say, adding that it will enable the vendor to activate circuits for clients in a matter of days, rather than weeks.
The service will leverage Seaborn's $500 million Seabras-1 cable, which the company will begin laying between the New York/NJ area and Brazil in the first quarter of next year.
