Northern Trust Launches North American Outsourced Trading Desk

Northern Trust is doubling down on outsourced trading as asset managers face more margin pressures.

Northern Trust has launched its outsourced trading desk in North America as it looks to capitalize on a growing trend.

The custodian bank began running an outsourced trading service in Europe since last year, but Gary Paulin, global head of integrated trading solutions at Northern Trust, said its move into the US was delayed because they wanted to address many of the regulatory changes happening in Europe.
