During that time, Williams held a series of market data engineering support roles at firms such as interdealer broker Tullett Prebon, and investment banks Credit Suisse and BNP Paribas. Back then, firms used broadcast, a legacy distribution protocol for distributing data from a source to multiple points on a local area network.
