Overview

RiskVal Portfolio (RVPortfolio) is RiskVal’s front-office, real-time risk and P&L platform designed specifically for buy-side fixed-income portfolio managers. RVPortfolio enables portfolio managers to view their portfolios in a manner consistent with how they trade at strategy and detail levels for real-time P&L and risk, rather than the traditional portfolio system pricing at the individual trade level with no concept of trading strategy.

The solution  

For portfolio hierarchy, RVPortfolio tags each trade with a book, strategy, sub-strategy, and group, allowing portfolio managers to easily group their portfolios in a meaningful way. It then provides real-time P&L and risk based on the desired portfolio hierarchy. P&L is based on real-time tradable market data observed by the system. Risk measures are also based on the same real-time data, given that fixed-income risk measures tend to be level-dependent.

Product roadmap

RiskVal is currently working on the following three areas:

  • Improving its onboarding process to enable its clients to access and leverage RVPortfolio quickly
  • Enhancing the flexibility of GUI functionality, allowing portfolio managers to control their portfolio views for risk and P&L management
  • Improving its 24/7 support staff’s knowledge and efficiency
