Exchanges, trading firms, and industry observers tackled market preparedness during an SEC roundtable ahead of the December 6 go-live.
With 23/5 equities trading coming to market in December, exchanges are not sweating who will work the overnight shift. But there are lingering questions about whether, in this instance, supply may outstrip demand.
Josh Burch, head of exchange product at the New York Stock Exchange, said NYSE has had its trade operations team resourced from 2:30 am to 8 pm for more than 20 years. “This will be a natural extension for them,” he told a panel of industry participants during a Securities and Exchange
