General Dynamics' Managers Swap Out Shaw For Portia

General Dynamics Corp.'s portfolio management arm will cut over to Thomson Financial Services Inc.'s Portia portfolio management system within the next several weeks. The shift to Thomson's PC-based in-house system from Shaw Data Systems Inc.'s bureau service reflects the defense contractor's expectation of reduced investment activity as it adjusts to life without the Cold War.

General Dynamics' trust investment operations department has been running Portia parallel with the Shaw bureau service
