JP Morgan Asset Management hired the Bank of New York to provide investment accounting via a service bureau contract. The deal was part of a strategic push by JP Morgan to ramp up adoption of a straight through processing environment in its buy-side operations. Officials at Morgan stated that the company was pursuing "a higher level of STP." Neither party would disclose the length or value of the contract (May 10, 1999).
