Extel's Rowlands Joins Thomson Europe; As FTI Ramps Up US News Presence


The managing director of the London-based Financial Times Information (FTI) subsidiary Extel, Sharon Rowlands, resigned last month after 12 years of service to join Thomson Financial Services. Rowlands will be TFS's European managing director, database division--a newly created position at an expanding business. But while TFS is beefing up its international efforts (see story, this issue), FTI and its affiliate, the Financial Times, are making moves to become stronger players in the Americas.
