BOSTON--On Sept. 21, a new group of portfolio managers formed Mellon Growth Advisors and began managing money as a new asset management subsidiary of Mellon Financial. The investment team of Mellon Growth Advisors presently uses systems from a Mellon subsidiary, The Boston Company Asset Management (TBCAM), but it will likely outsource its middle and back office elsewhere in the Mellon family.
