Scottish Widows picks State Street to handle its investment administration.

Sell-side firms aren’t the only ones outsourcing the back office. Asset managers, traditionally a technologically conservative lot, are jumping on the outsourcing bandwagon. Edinburgh-based Scottish Widows is the latest asset manager to outsource its investment processing.

But the firm is very different than it was at the start of 2000. Scottish Widows merged twice, creating four component investment
