The electronic bond trading arena continues toward inevitable consolidation. By Charles Fletcher

In its first-ever survey of electronic trading systems in the fall of 1997, the Bond Market Association (BMA) identified 11 platforms for the electronic trading of fixed income financial products. Three years later, that number had exploded to nearly 90.
