The scene popped into my mind while interviewing SunGard's Cris Conde last month. I asked about the sputtering economy that had looked fairly promising in the spring but seemed to flat-line in the summer. When did he expect the economic recovery to occur?
The dapper CEO of the soon-to-be split SunGard said that he met recently with the CEO of a major Wall Street firm who told him that the current economic state is now the new normal. "This is it," Conde recalls him saying.
