Global Crossing Closes Acquisition of IXnet/IPC

NEW YORK--Global Crossing has finalized its acquisition of extranet provider IXnet and its parent company, IPC Communications.

Bill Walsh, Ixnet’s managing director of marketing and corporate development, says the acquisition will allow both companies to offer a larger range of services, and intelligence will be added to the network. "The merger is the best way to position ourselves going forward. Global Crossing’s network will also allow higher bandwidth applications to our clients," he says.
