Australia, Singapore Exchanges Retain Nasdaq Platform


The merger of the Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) and the Singapore Exchange (SGX) will create a competitive new entity in the region thanks in part to the fact that both exchanges use technology platforms developed by Nasdaq OMX.

Both exchanges promise to offer the world's fastest trading engine—with a 90-microsecond response time, as well as more operational efficiency for intermediary firms—because of the common Genium Inet platform. The SGX plans to roll out SGX Reach, which is based on
