London Stock Exchange Targets Nasdaq OMX


The ink has hardly dried on the LSE / TMX merger and already the LSE has set its sights on Nasdaq as the target for its next take over bid.

Although no talks have yet been held and all three bourses are refusing to comment, they are expected to take place later this year once the Toronto / London deal has been finalised.

The LSE was subject to three failed hostile-takeover bids between 2004 and 2006, including one by Nasdaq in 2006 after it accrued a 25% stake in the exchange, so an LSE takeover
