Reuters-Thomson Merger: Limited Overlap Expected in Reference Data Products
LONDON-In February, the proposed merger of Reuters and Thomson was approved by authorities, and is expected to close in the week of April 13. To obtain clearance, Thomson has agreed to sell a copy of the Thomson Fundamentals database and Reuters has agreed to sell a copy of the Reuters Estimates, Reuters Aftermarket Research and Reuters Economics databases.
But the Reuters-Thomson link-up is not likely to have a significant impact on reference data products. There is limited overlap between
