Tokenized assets draw interest, but regulation lags behind

Regulators around the globe are showing increased interest in tokenization, but concretely identifying and implementing guardrails and ground rules for tokenized products has remained slow.

Blockchain technology’s recent resurgence coincides with a changing of the guard at many top regulators in the US, EU and the UK. The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA), and the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) have shifted toward more blockchain-friendly messaging.
