Charles Schwab Has Own Broker Workstation Prototype; ADP, ILX Could Supply Data

Charles Schwab & Co. next month will pilot a prototype of its own broker workstation running initially on PCs with UNIX servers, even as systems preference is making a UNIX workstation on every Schwab broker's desk a likely prospect. For market data, tests of ADP and ILX servers feeding data to the workstations are being weighed by Schwab -- leaving incumbent Quotron facing the loss of some $2 million in annual business.
