ETAS 2013: Innovation is Needed, But Not without Controls

ETAS 2013 took place in Canary Wharf, London.

Speaking on the end-user panel, the speakers made extensive reference to the idea of "commando" development teams raised by the keynote speaker, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank CIO Pierre Dulon. While the idea of flexible, roaming development teams is sound, they said, allowing the freedom necessary for this kind of work needs to be underscored by controls.

"For me, it comes down to discipline within the organization," said Barry Childes, head of research and innovation at HSBC.
