NEW YORK--Reuters’ decision earlier this year to obsolete the Triarch and TIB market data distribution platforms and move users to the next-generation Reuters Market Data System (RMDS) was judged by Trading Technology Week to be the story of the year for 2003.

The RMDS migration story was not the only major trading technology news for 2003. During this year of cost-cutting and preparation for recovery, we saw the continuing influence of Linux-Intel, Reuters’ rocky recovery, the rise of offshoring
