Espeed Wins Round in Wagner Patent Battle

DALLAS and NEW YORK--Espeed has won a round in its court battle to protect its Wagner patent on trading system intellectual property against three futures exchanges, a source close to the case says.

Espeed has brought a patent infringement case against the New York Mercantile Exchange, the Chicago Board of Trade and the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, charging that their respective trading systems, Access, a/c/e and Globex, exploit elements of electronic futures trading methodology that are covered
