Pat Dolan, director of Strategic Communications Systems (SCS) in London, shares a typical day with Insider.

I wake up when the sun is warm--around 0630. I need an alarm clock or the kids to wake me up. My wife and I have four boys ages 2 ½, 7, 9 and 11, so it's rush, rush, rush in the mornings to get ready.

I take the train from Hertfordshire--the service isn't too good--and then the Northern Line, which is disgraceful. As soon as I get to the office, I read my email messages. We're an e-commerce
