Toronto Stock Exchange Firms Ask Vendors For PC Link

Four member firms of the Toronto Stock Exchange -- Wood Gundy Inc., Nesbitt Burns Inc., Gordon Capital Inc. and Toronto Dominion Bank -- have approached three vendors -- Reuters, Dow Jones Telerate Canada and Star Data Systems Inc. -- to develop a PC link to the TSE's Canadian Automated Trading System (Cats) in anticipation of the closure of the exchange's trading floor. Rowland Fleming, president of the TSE, says the floor will be closed by the end of 1996.
