In the wake of the Chicago Board of Trade's embarrassing standdown over participation in Globex -- rival Chicago Mercantile Exchange's still unreleased automated futures- trading system -- the CBOT has published a business plan it commissioned to recommend strategies for dealing with the increasing competition posed by futures exchanges around the world.

Written by a specially selected task force, the report calls for the exchange to be increasingly competitive and aggressive in the development
