OpenGamma Banks on Open Source for Risk Management

OpenGamma is preparing to launch its OpenGamma Platform, an open-source front-office risk analytics system, later this quarter or early in the second quarter.

The platform will be able to run in tandem with proprietary trading systems or other vendor systems used by firms, according to Kirk Wylie, founder and CEO of OpenGamma.

"We designed the system in such a way that every single component can be individually used without anything else, or replaced, all the way down to the low-level
