Why IT Is Still a Good Bet

Have securities firms turned a corner as far as their attitudes toward IT spending? If the results of the Waters magazine survey in the November issue are to be believed, next year will be an important turning point.

More than half—55 percent—of those surveyed from major firms responded in the affirmative when asked if they expect to see an increase in their 2005 IT budgets over those in 2004. A little more than a quarter, 26 percent, say their budgets will be decreasing, while 18 percent say
